Watch: Edem Unveils ‘Fie Fuor’ Directed by Asihene
Edem out with a new music video titled 'Fie Fuor' directed by one of Ghana's most creative music video directors; Asihene
Edem has released a new music video titled ‘Fie Fuor’ directed by Asihene and I feel Edem is fishing out for more ears or targeting a larger audience with the song. I stand to be corrected but this is the first time hearing or seeing Edem title a song in the Twi language and as well, singing in the Twi language than usual. Surprisingly, I heard just a couple of Ewe lines in the song.
His choice of instrumentation isn’t surprising because Edem has over the years introduced new sounds and created unique alternative genres on different occasions. This sounds more like an alternative Francophone Afro-beats and it’s so appealing to the ears! This song makes me suspect Edem is working on a world domination project.
The song ‘Fie Fuor’ which literally means “House People” talks about something Africans; especially Ghanaians believe in and that is people in your family slowing your progress in life spiritually. In the song, Edem is simply saying those people destroying him spiritually should leave him alone.
Not sure where the video got recorded but I’ll bet that’s his hometown or a small town in Ghana to compliment the concept of the song. The main acting character for the video depicted the concept perfectly. This might look weird to outsiders but in most cases, things like this do happen. What is Edem up to? I believe he got something huge coming up! Watch music video below.
