Wizkid Talks About Life As A Ghetto Boy, How Music Started and More…
DJ Semtex interviews Nigerian super star; Wizkid and they talked about music in Africa, what inspires him and how it all started for the Starboy Worldwide CEO.
British disc Jockey and BBC Radio 1xtra digital radio station presenter; DJ Semtex, had a chat with Wizkid about his life, music and everything that made him who he is today. Wizkid narrated how it all began for him and how he finally made it to the mainstream and never looked back.
Wizkid said he started music as a rap artiste even though his parents listened to Fela and the likes a lot, he wasn’t interested in those kind of songs. He explained he wasn’t matured enough to understand what those songs were really about.
Listening to American artiste; Snoop Dogg, made him love music more because his sounds were more appealing to him. He was more into rap music until he started listening to the songs his parents were listening to which he ignored earlier. His growth in music began at that point. He added that, he is always real in his song; what he says in his songs is what he actually does.
He also revealed that, the point at which he realized he is ready for the world is when people started talking about a hook he did on MI’s “Fast Money, Fast Cars”. That was his gateway into the mainstream.
Wizkid also spoke about Ojuelegba the place he actually comes from in Lagos – Nigeria, the kind of life he was into, and how things were tough for him. This interview tells us about the starboy’s life from day one till now! Enjoy this interesting interview below.
