This morning around 8am GMT, reports reached us that, one of the originators of Akuapem rap; Shankoma, was involved in a fatal motor accident around Koforidua in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The unfortunate incident happened when Shankoma wanted to get his car washed at a washing bay and head to Accra for a meeting with his management team. We tried contacting him to confirm the news but was unsuccessful until we are able to reach his mobile phone this evening. He told Loud Sound Ghana that, he was on his way to the washing bay and just about 50 meters close, a “Snake Lizard” from nowhere landed on his chest while he was still driving.
He panicked and all he wanted to do at that moment is to get the creature off him. While struggling to throw the creature out, he lost control of the steering and drove into the pavement. Himself and 2 other passengers in the car were hurt. He said one of the passengers is in critical condition and transferred to the Korle-Bu teaching hospital in Accra. Shankoma is now admitted at the Tetteh Quarshie memorial hospital in Mampong Akuapem.
This is the second time Shankoma has escaped death this month. He could be a victim of the Gas explosion few days ago at the Trade Fair but he left few hours earlier before the explosion. As at now, he is in a stable condition and responding to treatment. We wish him and the other 2 a speedy recovery!
Shankoma is preparing a huge comeback in the music scene next year and promised his fans and the public that, he has more songs and video for them. 2017 looks like a promising year for Shankoma. Pray for Shankoma and his 2 other friends. See some of the pictures below…
