We have decided to start talking about some great songs that shockingly couldn’t make to the mainstream media. These are songs that had everything a music needs to blow out!
Have you ever asked yourself why some of your favourite songs are not even popular; and many people do not know it exists? Well, a couple of days ago, I was thinking about the same thing and started recalling some good songs uploaded on Loud Sound Ghana which couldn’t make it to the big stages even though we believe they are songs that will forever sound new to our ears.
We are not sure why these things happen, but we are yet to ask your opinion on some of the songs we will be talking about in this series, and you can contribute by commenting with songs you believe could make it to the mainstream but never did. Below are the 5 songs we believe could have ruled the music scene but quickly got drained!
Mr Hmhmm – Ayifuro (Feat. Choir Master)
This song not making it to the mainstream was a big shock to me! After releasing “Non Fa”, Mr Hmhmm (Formerly known as Oprakuo) released this excellent piece and featured the hit-maker, Choir Master formerly of “Praye” fame. This is basically a wedding song and I could totally get a vivid reaction when this music is played at wedding ceremonies. What went wrong? As much as I know, the artiste was on almost all the major radio stations in Ghana and the song could be found on all the top websites. Am I the only one thinking it’s a great song? Stream below and share your comments…
Garlingos – Let You Go (Feat. Kesse)
You can call me a light-hearted rastaman; but when I hear this song, I get goosebumps! Kesse blessed the beginning of the song with his magical voice and saw Garlingos merging perfectly with his rap lines. The J-hitmaker produced song had everything a song needs to blow up! From production, vocals, to the rhythm, meets all standards! What happened to this song? It was released some years back and I could imagine Garlingos winning an award with this! Listen to the nice piece below and share your comments about it.
LJ – Heart Breaker (Feat. DDT)
LJ is a versatile artiste; and I wonder if people have heard of him yet… The song “Heart Breaker” was produced by DDT, who was also featured on it. DDT has produced top songs including Afriyie Wutah‘s new single “Here To Stay“. You can feel the professionalism in the production and you will agree LJ raps fluently in English and also in the local dialects. What on earth could stop this song from breaking into the mainstream? What the hell went wrong?!! Maybe its just me… Listen and share your comments as well.
Biggieman – Allo
When this song was premiered on YFM, we had every reason to believe this is a breakthrough for Biggieman. As a matter of fact, I was addicted to this song and played it almost everyday when it was released. On the day the song was premiered, people called to vote for the song and it was a “Yes” for almost every caller. The song enjoyed airplay on other stations and that gave Biggieman the opportunity to appear on a couple of stages with other top artistes at that time. It’s sad this song faded out with no reason… Once again, I am surprised this song couldn’t make it! Check it out…
Mista Blaise – Follow Me (Feat. EFine)
With this song, I am not too sure if it had enough publicity; because it was released at a time when music websites were very few. This is actually among the first 10 songs uploaded on Loud Sound GH, and was released around 2010. Regardless, I believe this song is total party banger and could spread out on it’s own! I guess Ghana has its own way of making that happen… Beautiful piece produced by Cuzy of the Other One Studios in Madina. Take a listen and let me know your comments about it as well…
We will be bringing you the next batch of songs which are qualified to flood the airwaves but buried deep in the underground… Keep your eyes here to discover these bangers you never knew of… If you are a DJ or a Radio presenter, you can totally bring these songs up to make these artistes dreams come true!!
