D Cryme – The Rise ( Audio + Music Video )

D Cryme a.k.a. The Twi-Pop general, has unleashed the audio and music video for his new song titled ‘The Rise’ produced by Qweccy + Riddim and video was directed by KP Selorm.

This song seems to encourage the underground and to talk about the state of rap music in Ghana. If I heard D Cryme right, he said we don’t have real rap anymore because, people are only concerned about the swag and the money. He went on to say that, the upcoming artists should learn how to build their careers on their own instead of waiting for a “Producer”…

A producer to the “lame” Ghanaian means someone who will finance your music… He also said they should stay focused and do good music. He also raised the issue of inking your rap lines with “PUNCHES” to impress real music critics. D Cryme raised the issue of people calling themselves KINGS and QUEENS… He advised up and upcoming artists to learn how to write their own songs and stop sampling other people’s song. A lot more were said in there.

The music video was more than what I expected it to be. There were flames, dark backgrounds, one mic, the Twi-pop general and few appearances to compliment some parts of the lyrics. This means one thing to me—and that is, real rap is being encouraged and we are about to feel the impacts of real lyrics in songs and appreciate the art even more! Check out the video and download audio as well…
