Get Familiar With Akua; The New UK Afrobeat Sensation

0 86

Music has no language barrier, and all it takes is a good rhythm and meaningful lyrics! Akua is the new Afrobeat sensation rising steadily in the UK, who I believe is about to unleash her talent to Wow the world! The UK-Based Ghanaian fast rising Afrobeat Queen, started her music journey with RnB, but somewhere along the line, she decided to spread her wings and fly her way through the Afro beat world.

Akua started doing Afrobeat officially since January 2015 with her introductory song “Wo Do Me“. She later released “Move Your Body” featuring Shinestone and “Get Down” featuring K’Weezy. She also got featured on a couple of songs including “Low Key” hosted by Empire Sounds.

Akua is currently unsigned but working with Empire Sounds who manages her day to day affairs as an artist. Akua told Loud Sound Ghana she is glad she has discovered the genre that suits her best; and she is looking forward to work with some great names in industry such as Mista Silva, SK, StoneBwoy, Tiwa Savage and Seyi Shay.

The music video for “Wo Do Me” was officially released this year on Valentine’s day… The director did a great job with the concept!! The reflections, memories, and all the special times they shared together synchronized with the song perfectly. I think Akua is the next big thing to appear in the Afrobeat world! Check out the video below and don’t forget to share… Follow her on Twitter @AkuaMusic_
