Ghanaian HipLife originator, Reggie Rockstone also known as the Grand Papa of HipLife got featured on CNN’s “African Voices”. The Hiplife legend did more explanations on the concept attached to the HipLife genre and how he got inspired to start the whole movement.
Reggie Rockstone revealed that, even though he was born overseas, he had a good connection with his Ghanaian folks and that made him have a good command of the Twi language. When he arrived in Ghana in 1994, he decided to rap in the Twi language and nothing else… That was when HipLife was given birth to.
Reggie Rockstone also said his father built him the studio where all the magic started from, and also had lots of legends passing through.
