Will Sarkodie Pull Out From This Year’s Ghana Music Awards?
Who ever brought up the saying “There is no fire without smoke” said no lie. Sarkodie’s twitter timeline became the most visited when the award winning rapper started pouring out his heart about Charter House and their disrespect for Ghanaian artists. I was a bit surprised because I didn’t see this coming from Sarkodie. The rapper spilled out series of tweets which sort of gave us an intense image of what Charter House really looks like. Shatta Wale and few others took on Charter House last year calling them names and saying things some us did not really understand. But looks like its not a “Shatta Wale” problem, but an issue which goes a long way to affect almost every Ghanaian artist.
According to Sarkodie’s tweet, I have every reason to believe his displeasure about the Award Organizing Company did not spark up all of a sudden; but since last year… Whiles Shatta Wale was throwing punches at them publicly, Sarkodie decided to talk things out with them like a matured person behind closed doors. I think that is a respectful approach to deal with things; but it seems he was seen as a down to earth person and made them feel they can easily step on his toes and cool it off with a handshake. Well, that seemed not to be the case this time around.
Sarkodie literally said Charter House feed on artists to survive and yet they dont give back the respect due to these artists. From what I read, Sarkodie and Charter House did not come to an agreement that he will be performing at this year’s VGMA; but they went ahead to do promo with his name on it. When Sarkodie called to verify, they denied and later confessed with conditions attached to it. But my question is, will Sarkodie will pull out from the awards or he will accept the offer to perform at the VGMAs? Some of Sarkodie’s fans are reluctant to buy the tickets since the tweets started pouring in. They said “No Sarkodie, No VGMA” check out some of Sarkodie’s tweets below.
