VIDEO: Shatta Wale & Sarkodie Made History At “Shatta Beach”
Apparently, there were two big nights on the 11th of April 2015… For the first time in Ghanaian music history, a show has been hosted alongside the Ghana Music Awards Festival. To me, I think this is history because, it was organized within some few days and the turn up was more than impressive. Even though the show at the “Shatta Beach” was deliberately organized to boycott the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, I still like the fact that it was done for bigger portion of the fans who could not afford to be at the music awards.
I can also say it was a win win situation for both events because from what I saw, the Accra International Conference Centre was packed and looked as if though no artists was absent from the event. The Hashtag #VGMA2015 and other related hashtags were trending on twitter that night. Though we did not see any Hashtags from the “Shatta Beach”, we heard the place was on fire! I guess people were busy enjoying performances and had no time to tweet stuffs… The only confusing thing is that, Sarkodie rejected an offer from Charter House to perform for audiences almost for free. Guess its not all about the money but his dignity and the love for his fans. We cant judge him though…
From the video below, we can all agree it was a successful night and an energy packed performance by Sarkodie and Shatta Wale. Other artists passed through to support Shatta Wale do his thing. I have never seen a power-packed performance from these 2 artists like this one… I guess they went like “Lets Do It For The Street” !!! Check out the video below and share your comments too!
