Meet Lino Beezy – The fast arising star from the garden city!
The world of entertainment becomes hopeful each time a new talent resurfaces. Most of the times, it becomes more interesting when it happens that, the discovery of the new talent is that of a young and amazing one. That way, the hope becomes much greater. From the streets of the Ashanti regional capital; Kumasi, where most of our musical legends started from, is this discovery. He started following music when he learnt how to speak his mother tongue at the age of 3yrs. His father deliberately introduced him to music as early as the age of three; where he would buy records of Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, Bobby Brown, Nana Ampadu, George Ambuley, Kojo Antwi, Nana Acheampong, Reggie Rockstone and his favorite “Paamu Ka” by Obrafo.
As he grew along with his passion for music, Lord Kenya, Okomfo Kwaadie, Kontihene, D33ba, Buk Bak, VIP, Antwi ne Antwi and Akyeame made him felt at home. And not forgetting the time Sarkodie came to change the Ghanaian Music scene with his numerous freestyles and demos, this young man realized himself. He listened to Biggie’s “Life after Death”, Jay Z’s “Blue print” and Eminem’s “8mile” made him started to learn how to rap at his teen age.
Nana Owusu Banahene Jnr. Is his real name. He choose “Lino Beezy” due to the influence Sarkodie, D.Black, Joey B, Ko-Jo Cue and Pappy Kojo had on him as he listens to their projects. Also, as a child, he was glued to a cartoon character by name “Lino” which later his mum begun to call him by that name, because he4 used to act like that cartoon. His friends heard and started to call him by that name till date. The “Beezy” was inspired by his school days friends who literally preferred to call him “B” instead of “Banahene”. So, as his passion for music grew and his talent showed up, he choose to keep the “B” for his basic fans he grew with as an artiste and made it sound more artistic by adding “eezy” to his “B”.
Lino Beezy is a hip life and hip pop artist who wishes to cross boundaries with his talent as it grows into career. He still fetches inspiration from the Ghanaian artists like Sarkodie, E.L, D.Black, FoKN BOIS, Okyeame Kwame, Ko-Jo Cue, Flowking Stone, C-Real, Gemini, Joey B, Pappy Kojo and the likes.
