Artiste Of The Month: Elorm Adablah a.k.a. EL
EL Is LoudSoundGH’s Artiste Of The Month For November:
Our artiste of the month of November is Ghanaian record producer, sound engineer and rapper; Elorm Adablah porpularly know in the music circles as E.L. He has been consistent and a very active pillar the music scene. E.L. was born on 28th June 1983 and grew up in Dansoman, a suburb of Accra. He started his basic school at St. Martin De Porres School in Dansoman where he was rated as one of the best students. He continued his junior secondary education at Jack N Jill international school located in Roman Rigde (Accra)… He then got admission at the Presbyterian Boys Secondary School (PRESEC) and that was when the vision of making music became more clear to him and started diving into the music world…
Even though he discovered that unique musical talent, he did not put education aside, but went further to pursue a degree in Economics and Political Science at the University of Ghana (Legon – Accra). In the first year of his University education, his musical dream started building up and becoming a reality when he go signed to Jayso’s Skillion Records alongside other talented artistes like Gemini, Lil Shaker, Kevin Beats and Killmatic…
EL helped to co-produced Jayso’s “Skillionaires Demotape” which I will say was a great success; but after he excelled with flying colours from the University, the Skillions broke up and that is when EL became a stand alone artiste and started building on his personal brand and talent. In 2008, EL attained a recording studio in Asylum Down in Accra and started off the journey to get to the destination he is now.
He started working on his Mixtape and released singles like “Chale (So Fli)”, with Jay Foley, Wolf and Kwaku T (remix) but for reasons best known to him, that mixtape was never released. He decided to move his studio to Osu where he invested everything he had to build an ultra modern recording studio with powerful equipments with the help of his friends and family. That was a success and a great mark or achievement in his musical journey.
The first time I actually heard of EL is when he collaborated with Edem on the track “Don Dada” and I said to myself, this is something else… I guess he knew he was something else too! EL got signed to BBnZ live and released his debut double album titled “Something Else” on 1st June 2012 which had hit songs like “Obu Mo”, “One Ghana”, “Kaalu” and other smashing hits… The album literally demonstrated his enormous talent as the album sees variety of songs inspired by many things.
In 2011, EL released a collaborative mixtape with rapper; C-Real titled “Project HipHop” and also released a Valentine Mixtape he dubbed “Songs For The Girls” in 2012… EL has been involved in countless collaborations which includes the most viral collaboration he did with Sarkodie titled “You Go Kill Me”… EL is currently working on his second studio album titled “ELOM” which I cant wait to soak! He released the most viral Mixtape; “The B.A.R.” this year, which is still my personal favorite mixtape ever!
EL has been rewarded for his hard work by acquiring some awards… In 2010 he won the “Best Original Sound Track” award at the African Movie Academy Awards for the movie “A sting In A Tail”… He also won the “Best Score Award” at the Ghana Movie Awards also in 2010. He then grabbed the “HipHop Song Of The Year” award at the Ghana Music Awards in 2011…
EL is still working hard and giving us the best he could when it comes to good music. I really respect his talent and wants to salute him for the great things he has done for Ghana music! You can check out most newest release; “Shelele”
