LSGH: Hello Dj Young… Glad to have the opportunity to have a chat with you…

Dj Young: You are always welcome… Im privileged to be honoured this opportunity.

LSGH: Lets start off with the most common question… What is your name in real life?

Dj Young: My real name is Odoi Abdul popularly called Young-Ogboo; but behind the mic, I go by the name Dj Young…

LSGH: How did you come by the name Dj Young? Were you a DJ?

Dj Young: I got the name Dj Young because I was a Dj and was very young when I started “Djing”. Actually, that was when my love for music became intense and gave me the inspiration to become an artiste which I knew will become a reality…

LSGH: What is your education status?

Dj Young: I am an old boy of St. John Grammer High and later  enrolled at IPMC (an I.T. school here in Ghana). After all those, I could not ignore my passion for music so I decided to concentrate more on music and do it professionally…

LSGH: Do you have a role model or MODELS? Can you name them?

Dj Young: Yes I do… I look up to some international artist like Jay z and Nas and in Ghana I look up to Obrafour, Manifest Tinny and Sarkodie. There are more talented artistes out there but these are the artistes I can relate to the most.

LSGH: How are you inspired? What gives you the urge to make music?

Dj Young: I’m inspired by the things around me, people I speak to daily, and any kind of situation I find my self in… My God given talent gives me the me the urge to make good music. And in no time, that will be manifested and the world will know what Dj Young is up to…

LSGH: How many songs and videos do you have? Both released and unreleased?

Dj Young: I have 7 songs which are released online currently for free download… Songs like Angua mu, Sebewoun, Baashi, LiveLong, Party, Koti and the latest one LoveOverMoney which is really doing much better than I expected. Not forgetting my freestyle about my hood Called “Streetz Of Alajo” … All songs were produce by Beat Monster, and Recorded at @Engine_Records. Some of these songs were mixed by Jay B and @Magnombeats… I have uncountable unreleased ones which I am thinking of re-doing them again or featuring some other artistes on them…

I shot a video for my first single #Angua mu which features Souljah Slim (Now NaRick) Directed by Enchill of Media Gang Films, and its doing pretty well too!! Had constant rotations on GhoneTV, HomeBaseTv, AfrostarTV and about to be on CapitalTv as well…

LSGH: Sound great! If you had the opportunity to work with a well known Ghanaian producer, who will this person be and why?

Dj Young: I think if given the opportunity, I would like to work with streetzbeat, Appetius and magnom because, they are doing pretty well in the industry and with the Recognition they have built for them selves, would be good to Associate my self with them.

LSGH: Do you plan on any collaboration with the top artistes? Who will be your first choice?

Dj Young: Yes am willing to collabrate with all the big arts in the game but for now if I have the chance I would want to work with Manifest, Sarkodie, Joey b, Davido and Stonebwoy… And even many more artistes.. (Laughs) But my first choice would be sarkodie.

LSGH: Do you believe the Ghanaian music industry is favourable to you as an upcoming artistes?

Dj Young: Yes and No… Yes in a sense that if you do good music and you push hard, you could penetrate much easily… and No because platforms are not there for new artist to be on.but I personally believe with hard work I could break through…
