Miccheck Records Is Re-Resurrecting Akuapem Rap In Ghana.
Since the introduction of the HipLife genre in Ghana, it embraced a lot of local languages which participated actively in making the genre widespread… The Akuapem rap played a very significant role in a distinguished manner during that period; but somehow, it sort of cooled off leaving a handful of Akuapem rappers in the game… Two young men decided to bring that “Akuapem” fire back into the game by putting up a record label called Miccheck Records.
Kwame Seseben a.k.a. Ragoon Beatz and Leslie Wood a.k.a. Shiny Sparkz came together to give birth to this record label which is to target Akuapem rappers, Hiphop and R&B artistes, and get them active in the game once again. Miccheck Records was founded back in 2006 by these young men with the same aim and vision in mind. The first artiste to get on the label was Quata Bududkusu; an outstanding rapper who virtually dominated the hiplife scene back then.
The label got their own Recording Studio which is Located in the heart of Madina – Accra and operated by Ragoon Beatz himself. They are opening doors to great talents to join the family and be part of the big success story. Currently, artistes signed on the label are Kricket, I Judah and Qdd; who are ready to penetrate the music scene with full force. Miccheck Records is officially affiliated with Loud Sound Ghana; who will take care of their press releases, online promo and other online related stuffs.
The first official single for Kricket will be released on here for free download in a couple of days, as well as the music video for Kwame Seseben’s “On Fire” which also featured Kricket and K Spunky. Miccheck Records is about to give Akuapem Rap a new definition and a sensational approach to the game.
