Victoriouz Icon with DavidoVictoriouz Icon is currently the most talked about producer in Nigeria right now. We at LoudSoundGH heard of him for the first time when Wizkid officially released ”Sweet Potato” which was produced by this same young producer. We got much closer to this young producer because we believed in him just like we believe in any young and upcoming producer or artist.

We decided to have a short interview with Victoriouz Icon, so the people of Ghana can know more about him and also get to know how it all started for him and also his general views about music as a whole… Read the conversation below…

LSGH: Who is Victoriouz Icon?

VictoriouzIcon: I am Victor Angodi Egbekai Popularly known and called Victoriouz Icon A music producer, Sound Engineer and song writer… A Simple young energetic friendly creative young man.

LSGH: When did your career as a producer began?

VictoriouzIcon: Professionally I’ll say early 2007. Been working since 2005/2006 when I was in form three back in secondary school…

LSGH: Who inspired you in connection to your career?

VictoriouzIcon: I was a singer and rapper back then, and had to switched up because I wasn’t getting what I wanted from them other producers, there was always something missing that was what motivated me into choosing music production and sound engineering as a career.

LSGH: What is your first major song you ever produced?

VictoriouzIcon: Sweet Potato by Starboy Wizzzzy Wizkid.

LSGH: Knowing you are an upcoming producer, was it tough getting Wizkid to have a recording session with him?

VictoriouzIcon: Jsleeky Made it happen! I was Jsleeks  Sound Engineer… HardWork is the Key I’ll say this anywhere you can be whoever you want to be, but All u need is God, Hardwork and Persistence.

LSGH: How many top artists have you worked with so far? And which ones do
you hope to work with in the future?

VictoriouzIcon: Errm… The list is plenty small oo let me call names that’ll be easier I have worked with Davido, Waje, PRE, Sinzu(Sauce Kid), CoCo ICe, CapiTal femi, Terry tha Rapman, Sean Tizzle, IcebergSlim, YQ, Cartiair, YUNG6IX, WondaBoy  …the list goes on… And artists I want to work with, 2face, Lynxx, Banky W, Skales and DBanj…

LSGH: How would you describe Nigeria Music?

VictoriouzIcon: Nigeria Is Music, Ghana Is Music… We are gradually receiving awesome applause internationally and we have grown from grass to grace. We have carved a niche through music in Africa and beyond.

LSGH: Are you familiar with Ghanaian music? If yes, which artists would you want to work with?

VictoriouzIcon: Ghanaian music, sweet music…  God bless Efya, Sarkodie, EL and Fuse ODG… they never Disappoint. I’ll like to work with EL, Sarkodie and Efya am very sure Ghana has Loads of talented upcoming artist too I have plans of coming over to search.

LSGH: As a producer, what is your biggest challenge?

VictoriouzIcon: Yes Life is full of challenges but in Production hmm… I think it’s Getting the right artist on a beat,getting the right artist on a beat was quite challenging for me at first but not anymore *Smile*

LSGH: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

VictoriouzIcon: Successful… Very Successful By God’s grace

LSGH: Which artist (Underground or Famous) did you enjoy working with most?

VictoriouzIcon: Everybody knows this now *smile*

VictoriouzIcon: Jag Of All Trade Master Of All…

LSGH: What message do you have for Nigerians and Ghanaians?

VictoriouzIcon: In whatever u do be it business, Music or school put God First, hardwork and Persistence. Believe in yourself…
