With 2 mixtape albums under his belt, Blurr has been a force to reckon with; as far as the underground hip-hop scene is concerned.Mr.Blurricane, as known by his close fans, has done so much; as an up-and-coming rapper would, getting massive airplays on the radio and coining so many phrases with his lyrics ranging from funny sayings and incredible punchlines. Blurr has been responsible for some of the lingos used in nowadays Ghanian hip-hop language. With these and more, combined with his deep voice sends chills through the spine of his listeners, mesmerising and creating agitation on their side.Opoku Ansah Raymond was born and raised in Kumasi at Ahinsan where he attended Good Shepherd R/C Basic School. That was when he developed the passion for music.During his interview with Nana Kwame Asante of SoundzGH, he said “I would ran home from school just to listen to my father’s radio set”. His newly found love got him yearning for more, because he knew every hiplife artiste and every song but had no plans of doing music.It was during his first year in Kumasi Anglican Senior High School when he discovered his potential in music. Inspired by the likes of T.I.P’s album entitled Urban legend, track tittled The king as his favorate. Feeling very related to the track “U dunno me”, Blurr joined heads with his mate to create a group called “BADNEWZ” and there, the ball was set rolling.Currently with The Cue Family, his first mixtape album “Witnez da progress” featured aristes such as Kojo- Cue, Trix, Laxio, Deon and many others.Just recently, he released his 2nd mixtape album entitled “The BlurricaneTape (TBT)” which also featured great artistes like Lousika, Cabum, Kojo-Cue, Big Shady (now Fareed) and many others. This album yielded hit songs such as “Hungry” which got over 5000 video and audio downloads on the internet and “Double trouble” which featured one great artiste Kojo-Cue.Now trending with his newest single Hard type – featuring Klu Monsta, Blurricane is set to release his debut album which he promises of surprise us all and more. With undisclosed date or title of the album, he however mentioned of quality production as he will be working with the creative producers like Peewezel, Senyo, Klu Monsta and just to mention a few. He recently graduated from Kumasi Polytechnic (2012) and hoping to give special attention to his musical career.Blurr talks of the inspirations, encourgement and support he gets from his mum, brought to lights on his track entittled “Mum’s Words” which is on his 2nd mixtape album. He emphasizes much on his mother’s advice on bad friends, back-biting fans and staying true to himself.We also talked to his true brother Kojo-Cue and asked him to say something small about his brother, and he went like..”Ma brother is a real n****, and I have had the pleasure to to watching him grow as an artist. Overall, Blurr is such an incredible person.”Blurr see’s himself to be somewhere most musicians can’t go in the years ahead,he added “It’s all about going higher heights”.
